Classification of Instruments

Surgical and veterinary instruments are broadly classified by the function they perform. Chun Tara Industries manufactures instruments across all of the following categories:

• Cutting Instruments — Scissors, scalpels, bone cutters and rongeurs used to cut or dissect tissue and bone.
• Grasping / Holding Instruments — Forceps, clamps and needle holders used to grasp tissue, sutures or other instruments.
• Hemostatic Instruments — Artery and hemostatic forceps used to clamp blood vessels and control bleeding.
• Retractors — Instruments used to hold an incision or cavity open for better access and visibility.
• Dilating Instruments — Instruments used to widen a canal, cavity or opening.
• Suction & Probing Instruments — Suction tubes, probes and sounds used for exploration and fluid removal.
• Holloware — Trays, bowls, containers and sterilization boxes used to hold and sterilize instruments.
